Filming has commenced on ITV Endeavour star Roger Allam’s new BBC film.
It is over a year since the final episode of ITV's Inspector Morse prequel Endeavour was screened with the episode on March 12, 2023, watched by millions of viewers.
This brought an end to the franchise which started with the Oxford-based Inspector Morse series in the 1980s, based on the novels of Colin Dexter.

Directed by Nicholas Hytner, the BBC film takes place in 1916’s Yorkshire, after most of the men of the ambitious local Choral Society have volunteered for the front.
The Choral recruits a crop of teenage boys and girls in the story written by BAFTA- and Tony-winning playwright and screenwriter Alan Bennett.
Filming officially commenced this week on the movie which will be released in cinemas through Sony Pictures Classics.
A release date for the project is yet to be confirmed.
