A town in Oxfordshire has recently experienced a higher police presence than normal.
Residents noticed on Thursday (May 30) that there were several police officers and vehicles in Alvescot Road and Corbett Road in Carterton.
Thames Valley Police has now revealed the reason for this was due to a search for a high-risk missing person.

Taking to social media, the force explained the situation and confirmed that the individual was found and is now safe and well.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “Today you may have seen a large police presence in the Alvescot Road and Corbett Road areas of Carterton.
“This was due to a high-risk missing person.
“We are, however, pleased to say that they were found, safe and well and are currently being cared for by the ambulance service.”
