A TRIAL is taking place for a young man accused of sexually abusing a child when he was a teenager.

Cameron-john Brady, 27, has been charged with 11 counts of child sex abuse which are alleged to have occurred in Milcombe, a village near Banbury.

He is accused of showing the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pornography as well as sexually abusing her frequently across several years in the late 2000s.

However, Brady has denied the counts and is now standing trial at Oxford Crown Court.

A jury heard on Thursday (May 30) a written statement from the alleged victim’s boyfriend.

The statement, which was read out in court by the prosecuting barrister, said: “Earlier on the relationship, we had discussed over previous relationships and she made a disclosure that she had been sexually assaulted by Cameron.

“She told me he would do things with her. One time when they had been watching Avatar…he was on the verge of raping her.

“However, he did not go through with it. Another incident was when they were playing truth or dare where they made her get naked and made her sit in a wheat field.

“When we started the physical side of our relationship, there were no issues and we enjoyed it.

"However, she would soon asked me to stop as it would remind her of when Cameron [used to do it].

“I couldn’t even touch her. She would ask me to stop and she would start uncontrollably crying. She would cry and become withdrawn from me for hours on end.

“Sometimes her thoughts would just become overwhelming…these thoughts of her past.”

The jury were heard a transcript of one of Brady’s police interviews, where he disclosed that he had been a victim of sexual abuse himself.

He denied the allegations made against him.

When asked about the specific allegation of playing truth and dare and whether the girl was dared to get naked by himself and a friend, Brady said: “Not that I’m aware of.”

Police also asked if Brady had asked the girl if he could ‘get her off’.

He replied: “That didn’t happen. I know what [get off] would have meant to me back then, I was a kid.”

Brady, of Thornton Street, Birkenhead, has been charged with three counts of sexual assault of a child under, five counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration, two counts of assault by penetration and one count of causing or inciting a child to watch a sexual act.

The trial continues.
