Oxfordshire-born Jonathan Bailey is Bridgerton's sexiest character, according to a new study. 

The A-lister was born in Wallingford and grew up in nearby Benson - and has made a name for himself on stage as well as in TV and film. 

Now a new study analysing eight different factors from face composition to social media popularity and Google search volume has identified Mr Bailey as the most attractive man from regency romance Bridgerton.

The hit series is also filmed partly at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock so there are wins all round for the county. 

Despite being star of the latest season, Colin Bridgerton ranks second behind his brother, Lord Anthony Bridgerton - played by Mr Bailey, who takes the coveted top spot. 

Regé-Jean Page’s Lord Basset ranks the third-sexiest man in the ‘ton’. 

The study by online casino company Fruity Slots compiled an index analysis of various factors to assess the ‘sexiness’ of the male characters in the hit Netflix show based on a number of metrics.

The sexiest men of the show were then ranked by weighting the eight considered factors equally. 

Mr Bailey's Anthony Bridgerton came out on top ahead of this season's heartthrob Colin Bridgerton - played by Luke Newton. 

Mr Bailey's character scored a perfect index score of 10 out of 10 in five of the eight factors considered in the analysis. 

The study found that the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony, portrayed by actor Jonathan Bailey, has the highest number of Instagram hashtags, TikTok video views (more than 2.9 billion), Reddit attractiveness votes and comments, and average Google searches, estimated at over 800,000 per month, more than any other male character on the show.  

Simon Basset played by Rege-Jean Page in the first season, and Benedict Bridgerton played by Luke Thompson were next in the top 10. 

Prince Friedrich, Sir Phillip Crane, Theo Sharpe, Albion Finch, Jack Featherington and Baron Featherington followed.
