A day centre for over 65s near Banbury which closed during the pandemic has open its doors once again.
The Lake House Day Centre in Adderbury was reopened earlier in May by parish councillor Jacky Atkinson.
It offers spaces for eight people from 10am - 4pm every weekday.
Ms Atkinson said: "The reopening of Lake House Day Centre will again provide a welcoming facility to enable older people to enjoy planned activities and care, and at the same time offer families and carers much needed respite."
Managed by The Orders of St John Care Trust, the centre is housed within Lake House Care Home.
The facility provides not just companionship but also entertainment, with activities including quizzes, game challenges, baking, and bingo.
Attendees receive a hot lunch, refreshments, and a light meal to take home.
The centre also helps to tackle loneliness and offers a chance for family carers to have some free time while their loved one is looked after by professional care teams.
Lake House home manager, Lindsey Worthy, added: "We are honoured that councillor Jacky Atkinson joined us to reopen Lake House Day Centre.
"The day centre offers care and companionship in a safe environment, run by our dedicated and experienced team members.
"The day centre had been popular within the local community before it closed during the pandemic. We are very glad that it has now re-opened.”
