Oxford United took to the streets last week to celebrate their play-off promotion back into the second tier of English football.

Two goals from Josh Murphy were enough to secure a 2-0 over Bolton Wanderers to see Des Buckingham's side finish the season on a high.

The promotion means it will be the first time the Yellows will play in the second tier for the first time in 25 years.

Celebrations carried over from Wembley Stadium to Oxford city centre as the team took part in a bus parade which saw thousands fill the street.

However, it isn't the first time we have seen these scenes in the city as similar parades happened after United won the Third Division in 1984 and then when the club won the Second Division the year after.

This was then followed by the club's famous Milk Cup win in 1986.

Supporters also turned out for a trophy parade after United's promotion from the Conference in 2010 and then six years later after gaining promotion to League One.
