A West Oxford theatre group is preparing to return to the stage four years after the pandemic put a stop to their planned 10th anniversary production.
The West Oxford Pantomime Association is set to perform a double bill of one-act comedies by playwright David Tristram.
The performances of Last Tango in West Oxford and Strictly S*x Factor on Ice will run at the West Oxford Community Centre on June 14 and 15 at 7.30pm.
Founded in 2011 by resident Karen Starr, the association's latest performance tells the tale of a floundering amateur dramatics group, aiming to revive their fortunes despite constant squabbles.
Karen Starr said: "I'm thrilled that the West Oxford Pantomime Association is able once again to offer an evening of laughter and entertainment to the community.
"We're calling it our ‘reboot’, and I hope we'll show that there is life – and talent – to be found on our side of the dreaded Botley Road bridge works."
Director Alison Cook added: "Rehearsals for this show have been so much fun, I can’t wait for audiences to enjoy it too.
"Each of the actors brings their characters to life in a plot that feels both uncomfortably familiar and brilliantly novel at the same time."
The theatre group has produced nine pantomimes, two comedy nights, musical workshops and an interactive murder mystery over the years.
