Former Formula One driver Nigel Mansell has visited Bicester to collect a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mr Mansell received the accolade at Motorsport UK’s headquarters at Bicester Motion after being unable to attend the original awards evening in January.
He said: "I’m very proud to win the award and visit the new facility here at Bicester, it’s fantastic.
"I’m also incredibly proud of contributing to British motorsport, it’s lovely to leave that legacy behind, it’s a very proud day for me today."
The Worcestershire-born racer started his career as a teenage karting star before progressing to the British Formula Ford and Formula 3 Championships.
His Formula One debut came in 1980 with Lotus, after being noticed by Colin Chapman.
Mr Mansell went on to secure his first two Grand Prix wins after moving to Williams in 1985.
It was also with Williams that he won the World Championship in 1992, after returning to the team following a spell with Ferrari.
With a total of 31 Grand Prix wins, he remains the second most successful British Formula One driver behind only Sir Lewis Hamilton.
Presenting the award, David Richards, chair of Motorsport UK, said: "Nigel’s phenomenal racing career and his fighting spirit remain a true inspiration for aspiring drivers and motorsport lovers – his stellar performances on track earned him legendary status."
