Drone images of the fire, which closed the road in both directions between the A44 and the road for Cornwell, show forensic officers at the scene with the burnt-out vehicle in a nearby layby.

Thames Valley Police has described the death as ‘unexplained’ and do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

An inquest opening at Oxford Coroner’s Court on Tuesday (May 28) heard that Mr Lambie’s death is still ‘unascertained’.

Mr Lambie was a painter and decorator who resided at Shakespeare Avenue, Clydebank.
