A FLOOD alert has been issued by the Environment Agency for parts of Oxfordshire this weekend.
The Government body has issued a statement today (May 25) warning residents that flooding is ‘possible’ in some parts of the county.
It states that ‘property flooding is not currently expected’ but due to river levels having risen as a result of previous heavy rainfall, flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected.

The areas expected to be impacted are River Cherwell and its tributaries from Lower Heyford down to Oxford including Rousham, Enslow, Thrupp and Hampton Poyle.
It added: “The forecast is mostly dry today, Saturday, with further rain expected overnight into Sunday. River levels are sensitive to further rainfall.”
