The Oxford Bus Company maintains it is still the most reliable service to and from Heathrow, despite six cancelled services in the last week.

A spokesman for the company said this number of cancellations was not unusual but that the service was still a top performer for customers.

He added: "The Airline service is incredibly reliable and we are proud to transport thousands of people safely and promptly to and from Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport daily.

"We operate 100 journeys on the Airline daily and it is very rare for a service to be delayed or cancelled."

On May 13, four services between Oxford and Heathrow were cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances with two services cancelled on May 14, also for unforeseen reasons.

On May 16, the airline service to Oxford was diverted after an incident at the junction of London Road and Headley Way, while there were delays to the Oxford to the Heathrow 6.30am service on May 18.

The spokesperson said, by way of example, that the services had been "understandably impacted" on May 11 by the M25 closure and shared updates with customers throughout the process.

A spokesperson highlighted that, on other occasions, the service had communicated bus-line disruptions due to congestion on roads through updates on X or Twitter.
