Oxford Clean Rivers Fest is set to take place this weekend to celebrate the beauty of the River Thames.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 25, at Longbridges Nature Park on the banks of the Thames, during the much-anticipated Oxford University Eights Week rowing races.

The primary purpose of the fest is to raise awareness about the troubling issue of sewage pollution impacting our rivers.

The presence of local and national speakers will give enlightening talks, urging attendees to commit themselves to the recovery of these essential natural resources.

Fest attendees can expect a day filled with enjoyment along with education.

From 12pm to 5pm, the event promises a family-friendly atmosphere with plenty of music and entertainment on offer.

Moreover, festival-goers will have the chance to deepen their understanding of the importance of the River Thames and to identify ways they can contribute to its conservation.

An important aspect to note for visitors is that no parking facilities are available at the site.

However, a convenient 10-minute walking route exists from the Redbridge Park & Ride.

Appealing to the environmental consciousness of the community, the festival calls to those "sick of pollution in the Thames" to join the celebration and make their collective voices heard in the fight against water pollution.
