The dust has started to settle on the results from the 2024 Oxford City Council Local Elections.
On a turbulent day at the Town Hall, Labour saw the loss of some previously held seats while other parties made gains.
Claiming 11 seats by the end of the day and 20 at the council overall, Labour had seen a negative turnover in the Littlemore, Lye Valley and St Clement's wards.

A particularly eye-catching development was the four seats won by the Independent Oxford Alliance party in wards predominantly in the east of the city.
The Green party claimed four seats on the day, winning in the Donnington, Holywell, St Clement's and St Mary’s wards meaning they have eight representatives at the council
Elsewhere the Liberal Democrats won five seats meaning that they have nine seats overall in the city council.
There was one gain for the independent non-grouped members who now have a total of seven seats at the council.

Several photographs were taken throughout the day which helped summarise the wins, losses, tension and jubilation of election day.
One of the best shots was of Lib Dem leader Dr Chris Smowton and partner Anna Railton who won the Hinksey Park seat for Labour.
Ms Railton was pictured touching her partner’s rosette as the pair admitted to having a “non-aggression pact”.
"We do argue about some stuff,” she playfully conceded.
