May Morning 2024 was welcomed in by a fantastic choir at Magdalen College in Oxford.
The event which is now over 500 years old was once again celebrated in the city centre with thousands flocking to join in.
Around 14,000 people attended which was only 2,000 short of last year’s total which was the highest in six years due to May Morning falling on a bank holiday.

The celebration commenced at 6am on Wednesday morning as a choir sang at Magdalen College at the University of Oxford to welcome in the event.
This stunning sound could be heard across the city as the bells rang out to signal the start of this year’s edition of May Morning.
Crowds then moved on to High Street where drummers, dancers and other performers could be seen and heard entertaining locals.
Elsewhere more live performances could be seen at the Bridge of Sighs and the Clarendon Building while free food was served at St Aldates Church.
