A JURY has been dismissed in a sexual assault trial which saw a contractor accused of slapping a woman’s bottom at work.
Douglas Varney, 58, was on trial at Oxford Crown Court charged with two counts of sexual assault which allegedly took place in Brize Norton while the defendant was working as a contractor.

It was heard that he allegedly touched a woman’s bottom on two different occasions – the first being a hard slap.
Varney denied both charges.
He stated the first was not a sexual action and claimed the second incident had never happened.
However, the jury has been dismissed in the trial due to legal issues and the case is to be relisted at a later date.
