The Mayor of Bicester said it was "an honour and a pleasure" to visit a housing development in the town which is nearing completion.
Councillor Harry Knight and his Consort, Lorraine Knight, were welcomed to Hemins Place for a tour of the site.
After a talk with the David Wilson Homes team, the pair were shown around the show homes, new open space and play area.
Mr Knight said: "It was an honour and a pleasure to attend the site visit.
"I found it very interesting, as I have myself a background in the building trade as a bricklayer, although somewhat distant now.
"We found the show home to be beautiful and seems to be built to a very high specification.
“I was also very impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of all involved at David Wilson Homes and hope the company continues to have great success in the industry.”
Solar panels and electric vehicle charging points are available in some Hemins Place properties.
Steve Barton, senior sales manager at David Wilson Homes Mercia, said: "It was a pleasure to welcome councillor Harry Knight and Lorraine to our development, Hemins Place, to showcase the progress we’ve made onsite as the community draws to a close."
There are a range of four-bedroom properties remaining at the site which is close to a health centre, three schools and a nursery.
