Fire crews have been called to tackle a large stack of hay bales that has burst into flames in Oxfordshire.
A large stack of hay bales was alight when firefighters were called to the blaze close to Winter Lane in West Hanney last night (Sunday, April 21) at around 11pm.
Fire crews from Wantage and Abingdon monitored the blaze, allowing a “controlled burn” through the night while A 4x4 vehicle remained at the scene the following morning,
Thames Valley Police closed Winter Lane, West Hanney in both directions during the height of the incident.
An Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "Due to the nature of the incident and where the Hay bales are located, Thames Valley Police have closed Winter Lane, West Hanney in both directions, and it will remain closed until it is deemed safe enough to reopen.
"Crews will also remain on scene during this time."
