A POLICE helicopter was deployed over Banbury after an armed robbery in the town centre.
Thames Valley Police warned residents to expect to see the police helicopter yesterday afternoon (April 20).
The force has since released an update stating that at about 4pm, an offender went into a JOJO's Mobiles and Computers and demanded mobile phones.

It is reported that the offender was carrying a firearm, and after leaving the shop, he allegedly ran in front of a lorry which had to make an emergency stop.
Police have stated that no one was injured but the man made off with a small number of mobile phones.
The offender is described by Thames Valley Police (TVP) as a black man, around 5ft 6ins tall, skinny build, wearing a black hoodie, black tracksuit bottoms and wearing a black mask.
He was also carrying a black backpack.
It comes as the TVP Cherwell Facebook page released a cryptic message on Saturday afternoon which left many wondering what the circumstances were behind the helicopter.
The post said: "Dear Banbury, yes the helicopter is up. No, it’s not for the football. We may update you later."
Chief Inspector Rob Platt, said on Sunday: “This was a concerning incident as such we are carrying out a thorough investigation.
“As such we are asking anyone with information to please come forward, particularly anyone who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage.
