Mystery surrounds an Oxford Greggs after it suddenly and unexpectedly closed.
The store inside Templars Square shopping centre in Cowley was closed on Sunday, April 14, in usual operating hours.
The shutters were down while several copies of a printed notice were pinned to the closed shopfront.
A spokesperson for Greggs said: “We’re sorry.
“We’ve had to temporarily close our shop for essential maintenance.
“Sorry for the disappointment. We’ll be back open again soon.”
It is unknown what the exact reason was besides maintenance and for how long the bakery shop has been shut.
There are four Greggs throughout Oxford and the other three are open as normal currently but the extent of the maintenance remains to be seen.
The Oxford Mail has approached Greggs for further comment on what caused the closure.
