Blenheim Palace is celebrating its biggest ever exhibition with a fashion-themed afternoon tea and new merchandise.
Visitors to the Icons of British Fashion exhibition can start at the recently revamped Orangery, where they can indulge in an array of freshly prepared savouries and pastries.
The afternoon tea menu features a selection including coronation chicken and bhaji, cucumber and mint sandwiches, wild mushroom and truffle vol au vent, and lobster, miso and yuzu dressing spiced cracker.
There will be homemade scones served with strawberry preserve and clotted cream, and assorted confections including lemon meringue pie, Battenburg, chocolate and black cherry bomb, carrot cake delice, and macaroons.
The special edition menu, created in collaboration with Charbonnel et Walker, also includes milk chocolate high heels.
The themed afternoon tea will run for the length of the fashion exhibition which is running until June 30.
Priced at £60 per person, the afternoon tea is served with a glass of pink fizz, and specially designed limited-edition cocktails and mocktails like Passion for Fashion and Raspberry Runway are available.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site has teamed up with several iconic British fashion designers and brands featured in the exhibition to introduce a fresh collection in The Palace Shop.
This includes handbags and accessories from Lulu Guinness, t-shirts and postcards from Terry De Havilland, and books celebrating the works of Alice Temperly and Zandra Rhodes.
An exclusive Blenheim Palace Icons of British Fashion 2024 range featuring tote bags, mugs, stationery, and prints has been launched to mark the event.
Kate Ballenger, keeper of palace and collections said: "The moment visitors step foot on the grounds they’ll feel as though they’re joining our fashion show.
"From the red carpet entrance and a number of fashionista photo opportunities, to the specially crafted fashion-themed afternoon tea and exhibition merchandise available, we're promising the ultimate day out.
"I have worked at Blenheim for nearly 18 years and this is our biggest in-house exhibition to date showcasing a creative curation of clothing, accessories, drawings, photography and archival materials.
"We’re celebrating the incredible designers in Great Britain and as Blenheim Palace is a truly iconic British location it is such a natural pairing."
The exhibition features bespoke designs and loans from Dame Vivienne Westwood, Jean Muir, Terry de Havilland, Bruce Oldfield, Turnbull and Asser, Zandra Rhodes, Lulu Guinness, Barbour, Alice Temperley, Stella McCartney and Stephen Jones Millinery for Christian Dior.
Admission to the exhibition is free with any valid Blenheim Palace ticket.
