Hockey players at an Oxford school have been honing their skills with an Olympian.
Pupils at Headington School welcomed Great Britain player Lily Owsley, who worked with nearly 150 pupils, taking them through drills that the Great Britain’s women’s team has been working on at Bisham Abbey.
Head of hockey and acting director of sport at the school, Alex Williams, described the visit as a “highlight of the season” and a “privilege”.
Ms Owsley has won Olympic Gold and Bronze and Commonwealth Games Gold while representing Great Britain.
The day finished with an interactive psychology session for hockey players and sports scholars, which encouraged them to think about why it is that they pay hockey and other sports.
