A hospice in Headington is raising "desperately needed" funds to refurbish one of its rooms.
Sobell House Hospice has launched the Family Room Appeal to raise the money needed to renovate the area meant for the friends and families of patients.
The hospice has so far raised £15,000, but said it needs to raise more to be able to make the changes.
These changes include adapting the kitchen area to be "truly functional", providing a child-friendly space for the hospice's youngest visitors, purchasing a new television and streaming subscriptions to enable families to enjoy movie nights, and improving the lighting to "help create a relaxing mood".
The hospice said: "Please help us to renovate our family room and create a homely, comfortable space for patients to spend quality time with their loved ones."
Donations can be made to the appeal via the Sobell House Hospice website.
The hospice, which was founded in 1976 and is based on the Churchill Hospital site, is part of the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
It provides specialist palliative care to around 3,000 people facing life threatening illness, death and bereavement in Oxfordshire every year.
This includes physical, psychological, social and spiritual care for around 500 patients at any given time.
The hospice also supports patient's families and those close to them.
