A SHOCKING image has been released by police after a drunk driver crashed into a tree.

The image of the silver Mercedes A Class was released by Thame Valley Police's neighbourhood team based in Thame and Henley.

A weekend report was released by the team to demonstrate the work across the towns over the Easter Bank Holiday.

One of the arrests made was for a drunk driver who crashed into a tree beside Henley Bridge with the driver allegedly trying to leave the scene.

On arrival, officers were directed by members of the public to the driver who was arrested and taken to hospital where they then underwent a drink drive procedure.

Over the weekend, police also dealt with two public disorder offences in Wallingford and made a second arrest relating to a domestic incident.
