A popular Oxfordshire pub has closed its doors after the landlords left the “wonderful” property for the final time.
The Six Bells on The Green in Warborough operated for the last time on Wednesday, March 27, with the family in charge departing the pub.
Landlords Gary and Sam moved into the pub in October 2022 but have ended their tenure after one last night with regulars.
The couple put out a heartfelt message on the pub’s Facebook page on Wednesday night, thanking everyone for their custom.
“We would just like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who have supported us since we started to run the Six Bells,” read the Facebook post.
“We've had a blast and we hope you have enjoyed the events we put on.
“Thanks to all those who managed to turn out for our last night.
“We were overwhelmed by your support and we were completely surprised and thankful for the gifts and cards you bought us.
“We hope someone comes in to run the Bells pretty soon because it is a wonderful pub in the heart of a caring and supportive community.
“We have met some lovely people and made some wonderful friends in the short time we have been here. We will miss you all, but we will be back for sure.
“Love to you all. Gary, Sam & Family xxxx”
It remains a mystery as to when the pub will eventually reopen its doors with no new owners lined up as of yet.
