There will be drop-in events for people to learn about building the East West Railway.
Nine events are scheduled in May along the proposed route through Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bedford, and Cambridge by the East West Railway Company (EWR Co). These are designed to explain how to get involved and understand the Development Consent Order (DCO) process.
These informal gatherings do not hold any specific design proposals.
Reflecting on the significance of these events, Beth West, CEO, EWR Co, said: "EWR is a once in a generation opportunity that has the potential to positively impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of people by improving access to jobs, educational opportunities and public services."
She encouraged those living or working around the proposed route to participate in the events.
The scheduled events are open to all and will take place from 2pm-7pm at:
- Tuesday, May 7 - Bedford Rowing Social Club.
- Wednesday, May 8 - Cutteslowe Pavilion Hall, Oxford.
- Thursday, May 9 - Weyland Hall, Bicester.
- Friday, May 10 - South Cambridgeshire Hall, Cambourne.
- Monday, May 20 - Roxton Village Hall, Roxton.
- Tuesday, May 21 - St Philip’s Church Centre, Cambridge.
