A major Oxfordshire road has been suddenly closed by police after a medical emergency.
Wallingford Road in Wantage was shut down by Thames Valley Police Officers on Wednesday morning following the emergency incident.
The extent or details of the medical issue have not been disclosed at this stage but an ambulance is currently at the site alongside police.
The road remains closed at this time with the force urging members of the public to stay clear of the area.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “Wantage Neighbourhood are currently in Wantage assisting the ambulance with a medical emergency.
“This has led to some minor traffic issues on Wallingford Street which is currently closed from the Market Square headed towards Waitrose. Please avoid.”
