A woman has been charged after over 130 eggs were allegedly stolen from a supermarket in Oxfordshire.
The eggs, as well as other groceries including tomatoes and watermelon, were taken from the Marks & Spencer store at Gateway Retail Park in Banbury.
Thames Valley Police arrested and charged a woman in relation to the incident and took to social media to see the funny side, adding several egg puns into their post.
A spokesperson for the force on X said: “Not your average poaching in Banbury.
“It was no ordinary shoplifting that Banbury Neighbourhood team responded to yesterday… but an ‘egg-stra’ special Marks and Spencer theft at Gateway Retail Park.
“Items recovered and female charged with theft and driving offences.”
