WEEKEND roadworks on the A34 are causing traffic delays near Oxford.
Both lanes of the A34 southbound carriageway near Botley have been closed over the weekend, starting from 9pm yesterday (Friday, March 22) until 5am on Monday, March 25.
SGN Gas is carrying out works 'to reinstate the road and complete the project'.

A signed diversion is in place using the following roads: A44 Woodstock Road, A40 Sunderland Avenue, A40 Elsfield Way, A40 Northern Bypass road, A40 North Way, A4142 Eastern Bypass Road, and the A423 Southern Bypass Road.
Delays are expected on the A34 with surrounding roads also likely to have a build-up of traffic.
There is an average speed of 10mph on the Eastern Bypass Road westbound between Headington and Cowley this morning.
The AA stated at 9.30am there are delays of around 10 minutes which are increasing.
Traffic is also slow moving in Littlemore with an average speed of 10mph near the Littlemore Roundabout as of 9.15am.
Delays are also being reported near the Peartree Interchange in the Gosford area with an average speed of 10mph from around 9am today (March 23).
