A local woman won an award at a world-renowned film festival.
Didcot resident Lucy Skuce was honoured at the Oska Bright International Film Festival with the Lives on Screen award.
The festival is globally recognised for showcasing films created by or featuring individuals with learning disabilities or autism.
Ms Skuce, who herself is autistic, was commended for her film, My Cameras, an exploration of her fascination with vintage video equipment.
The film revisits locations in Didcot, originally captured by Ms Skuce in 2012, revealing the town's evolution over the past decade.
My Cameras was previously exhibited at Modern Art Oxford in 2022 as part of the Captured Moments exhibition, where Ms Skuce utilised her vintage camera collection to create two video installations.
In response to her triumphant win, Ms Skuce expressed sheer joy and excitement.
Living independently with the support of a local charity, Autism at Kingwood, Ms Skuce continues to fuel her passion for film making and camera work.
Ms Skuce is associated with Shadowlight Artists, a group of award-winning creative individuals with learning disabilities and autism.
Based at the arts charity Film Oxford, the group has been an essential part of Ms Skuce's journey since she became one of its founding members in 2009.
