A former Manchester City footballer is coming to Oxford this week to give a talk.
Nedum Onuoha played for the reigning Premier League champions from the age of 10 years old, starting out in the club’s academy.
He went on to play for the club until 2012, being managed by Harry Redknapp, Roberto Mancini and Sven-Göran Eriksson in the process.
He also had spells at Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers before moving over to the United States with Real Salt Lake from 2018 to 2020.
Since then the former defender has become a regular BBC Sport pundit and he will talk about his career and his autobiography Kicking Back to the Oxford audience.
Mr Onuoha will give this talk to fans on Thursday (March 21) at the Oxford University Mathematical Institute as part of the Oxford Literary Festival.
The literary festival is into its 27th edition this year and will see several authors give talks across the city from Saturday, March 16 to Sunday, March 24.
A spokesperson for the event said: “BBC football pundit and former Manchester City and Queens Park Rangers footballer Nedum Onuoha talks about life on and off the pitch.
“This includes minority groups in football, how to approach the end of a professional sporting career and the importance of having an identity outside the game.”
The event will be sponsored by Oxford United and tickets range from £7 to £13.50.
