Drivers experienced huge queues at a major supermarket petrol station in Oxford this weekend.
Cars could be seen queuing back at the fuel station at Sainsbury’s on Heyford Hill in Littlemore on Saturday afternoon.
The reason for the delays was due to a fault with the pay-at-the-pump system at each of the pumps at the station.
None of the screens were responding to customers, stating that they were locked and payment had to be taken inside rather than on the forecourt.
A member of staff had also placed outside a sign for new customers, warning them to expect a long wait due to the issue.
“Pay in kiosk only, please expect long queues,” read the sign.
A spokesperson for Sainsbury’s informed the Oxford Mail that it was a nationwide problem over the weekend which has since been resolved.
