A Palestinian diplomat will address city councillors at their meeting tomorrow.
Head of the Palestinian Mission to the UK Dr Husam Zomlot will address the Oxford City Council chamber on Monday evening (Monday March 18).
Oxford is twinned with Ramallah and a cross-party motion was passed at the council meeting last November asking that the Mayor of Ramallah, Issa Kassis, be invited to address council through video message.
The council contacted the Mayor of Ramallah’s office but, owing to the current situation in the city, he was unable to respond.
An invitation was subsequently issued to Dr Zomlot.
Dr Zomlot spoke at the Oxford Union last November.
