Police continue to probe an attempted murder investigation as a stab victim is "recovering well" two weeks on.

Following reports of an altercation in Edgecombe Road in Barton at around 11.35pm on Thursday, February 29, a man in his 20s suffered several stab wounds.

He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington.

The man has since been discharged from hospital after treatment.

Two people previously arrested in connection with this incident have been released on conditional police bail while the investigation continues.

A 15-year-old boy from Headington was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a man, aged 26 and from Oxford, was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent and resisting a constable.

Detective Sergeant Matt Gorman of the Oxford Criminal Investigation Department said: “We are making progress with this investigation, but I am again today appealing for anybody who witnessed this serious assault and who have not yet contacted the police to please do so.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anybody who may have dash-cam, doorbell or CCTV footage from the scene of the assault to please check this and get in touch if it has captured anything that could assist this investigation.

“Thankfully, the victim is recovering well and is no longer in hospital, but that does not lessen the severity of this assault in any way.

“I would urge anybody with any information to please contact us."
