Schools, community groups, and businesses have raised tens of thousands of pounds for a hospice.

Banbury-based Katharine House's Accumulator Challenge saw £31,084.19 raised.

Eleven groups took part in the fundraising which began in October when teams were given £50 as seed money.

The fundraising activities ranged from pumpkin carving, a quiz night, a pop-up clothes shop, bingo, and bake sales.

The campaign concluded with an awards ceremony hosted at Bloxham Mill, which provided the venue and refreshments for free.

Graf UK won the Ultimate Accumulator Award by surpassing the record for the most money raised, previously held by Dematic.

They raised money through activities such as sponsored rowing and a quiz night.

Graf UK’s Callum Vallance-Poole said: "In the face of a challenge, Graf UK's team rallied not just to meet expectations but to set a new standard for what a passionate, community-driven effort can achieve.

"Raising over £15,000 is a testament to our team's dedication and the generous spirit of all involved."

Caroline Care for You won the Community Award for reaching the most people in the wider community, Hanwell Fields Community School clinched the Creativity Award, and Kineton High School's eco-friendly Christmas market stalls earned them the Sustainability Award.

The Accumulator Challenge has now, overall, raised more than £124,000 for Katharine House.

Katharine House has now opened applications for the 2024/25 Accumulator Challenge which, for early applicants, comes with a £75 seed fund.
