A 15-year-old boy has been rushed to an Oxford hospital after being hit by a car.

The incident happened as a red Toyota Yaris was travelling from the direction of Douglas Road shortly before 9pm on Friday, March 8.

This car was involved in a collision with the boy on Oakfield Road just outside the Lidl store in Aylesbury. 

The boy suffered serious head and leg injuries and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where he remains in a stable condition at this time.

The driver of the Yaris stopped at the scene and was not injured in the incident.

No arrests have been made and Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses to the serious incident.

In a public post across their social media channels, the force asked members of the public to come forward if they saw the incident and could help with police enquires.

Investigating officer PC Phillip McGlue of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “I’m appealing to anybody who witnessed this collision or who may have dash-cam of the incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“The injured boy is being treated at the John Radcliffe and thankfully his injuries are not life-threatening, and he is recovering in hospital.”
