A forklift truck has completely overturned in the night and fallen into an Oxfordshire brook.
The 11-tonne vehicle was at the building site in Sutton Courtenay but fell into Ginge Brook on Tuesday night (March 5).
A photograph snapped by onlooker James Walton on the night shows the yellow vehicle overturned and in the water.
“Tonight, the builders’ forklift fell into the Ginge Brook, full of diesel, collapsing its banks and destroying natural habitat,” he said.
John Osborne is a resident nearby and stumbled across the upturned vehicle during a walk on Wednesday morning.
“It looks like the trench warfare of the First World War,” he said.
“A recovery vehicle has arrived but that is even bigger than the upside down one so they won’t be able to get near it.”
