The newer firefighters at Bicester Fire Station have been taking part in two training exercises as part of their development programmes.
One of the sessions involved a 13.5m ladder pitch over an obstruction, the construction of an improvised dam, and the use of a light portable pump.
Working at height training was also included, with the use of harnesses and roof ladders.
In a separate exercise, a simulated road traffic collision tested the firefighters as they practiced methods of extrication including the gull wing technique.
This involves cutting the car door and post it is attached to create access for a side removal.
For those interested in firefighting, Bicester station has vacancies.
