An update has been provided ahead of the upcoming closure of a busy footbridge by Oxford train station.
Network Rail has been carrying out works as part of as part of a £161m upgrade for the city’s rail station since April last year.
These improvements include replacing the rail bridge and moving utility cables in Botley Road so that a new western entrance to the station can be built.
The road has been shut at the rail bridge since the work began and is not expected to reopen again until October.
One major imminent change is the closure of the above footbridge which will shut on Saturday, March 9.
Network Rail has now provided an update ahead of the closure, with a clearer idea as to when this will affect members of the public.
A spokesperson for the rail authority said: “The footbridge is currently open - we will be removing it overnight between March 9 and 10 and a replacement is due to open at the end of October, along with the road.
“The walkway underneath will need to be shut for short periods while we work above.
“This is scheduled to be after 1am on Sunday 10 March, once trains have stopped running, and there will be marshals in place.
“We are working with GWR to provide additional signage to the route across Frideswide Square.
“We already have marshals in place that can help direct people if required.”
