Two students at a college in North Oxford have hosted an event to platform discussions centred on the theme of "internationalism".

The final-year students at St Clare's, Oxford, Sheeta and Anissa, organised eight speakers at the TEDx event who were members of the college student body and staff.

The internationalism-themed discussions ranged from humanitarian aid to studying in a second language.

The event put on by the 'TEDx St Clares Youth' team was aimed to incite thoughtful conversations within the college community.

TEDx, a series of locally-organised events, bring individuals together to share experiences similar to those at TED talks.

Such events are led by people seeking to research and discover "ideas worth spreading."

Sheeta and Anissa said: "It was an amazing opportunity to manage and orchestrate our first event of this scale, be able to learn about our classmates, and develop our own abilities and communication skills.Oxford Mail: There were eight speakers at the eventThere were eight speakers at the event (Image: St Clare's Oxford)

"We are very grateful that we were given this opportunity and a big thank you to every member of staff who helped us bring our vision to reality."

The talks were intended to give attendees a chance to listen to peers and gain more worldwide knowledge.
