A PAEDOPHILE who abused a young boy in exchange for him playing the PS4 has been jailed for nine years.

Corey Phillips was on trial at Oxford Crown Court charged with several counts of child sex crimes against a boy aged 13.

The 20-year-old was found guilty of two counts of causing or inciting a boy to engage in sexual activity and two counts of rape.

He was found not guilty of one count of inciting a boy to engage in sexual activity.

Before the trial, he had pleaded guilty to three counts of sexually abusing the victim – two counts of assault of a boy by touching and one count of inciting a boy to engage in penetrative activity.

Phillips, of Wincey View, Great Haseley, was sentenced at the same court on Friday (February 24) to six years imprisonment with an extended three-year licence.

During the trial, the court heard Phillips had ‘bribed’ his victim into performing sexual acts, including with turns playing on his video game console.

Prosecuting, Edward Lucas said: “He [the victim] was sexually abused at the hands of this defendant who was quite a lot older than him.

"He [the victim] deserved better than being sexually abused by this defendant in the way that he was.”

Phillips was arrested on July 15 last year and gave no comment when interviewed by police.
