Twenty seven pubs, takeaways and restaurants across Oxford have been handed top food hygiene ratings following their most recent inspections this month.

Twelve restaurants, cafes and canteens received a five-out-of-five ratings.

These were: Theo's in Broad Street, Coco Noir in London Road, Compass Group UK Ltd At Osney One, Mostro Coffee and Arbequina in Cowley Road, the Researcher's Cafe at the Oxfordshire Records Office, St Luke's Church and the Victors Restaurant And Bar at Victors, The Westgate.

Also receiving “very good scores” in this category were: the Kellogg Hub Café and Xi'an Restaurant in Banbury Road, Restaurant Moya in 97 St Clement's Street, Edamame in Holywell Street and Nuffield Health at Virgin Active Heath Club in Woodstock Road.

Eleven top ratings were also handed to pubs and bars. These included: The Plough Inn in Cornmarket Street, the Mason's Arms in Quarry School Place, the Royal Blenheim in St Ebbe's Street, the West Oxford Bowls Club in Botley Road and the Jesus College Sports Ground in Bartlemas Close.

Other pubs and bars to bank top marks were: the Marston Royal British Legion at Royal British Legion Club House, Oxford City Footlball Club at Court Place Farm, Blackbird Leys Bowls Club in Cuddesdon Way, Magdalen College Sports Pavillion in Marston Road, The Gardeners Arms in Plantation Road and The Varsity Club in the High Street.

Takeaways Greggs At Welcome Break in Woodstock Road, Dragon Bowl in Hollow Way, Maroc Deli and Top Wok (both in Cowley Road) were the final four venues to receive the highest score.
