A woman in a mobility scooter outside a Didcot pub was hit by a car which failed to stop after the crash, Thames Valley Police has revealed today.

While crossing Gentian Mews in Harwell from the community centre to the Station Garden pub on January 23, the woman was hit by a car turning into the road at around 5.40pm

As the woman in her 40s started to cross, a car turned into Gentian Mews from Greenwood Way and collided with the front of the mobility scooter.

The car continued for a short distance and then stopped for a few seconds before driving, Thames Valley Police announced in a public appeal on Monday afternoon.

The woman suffered bruising to her head from the interior roof and the mobility scooter had a damaged front wheel and a crack in the housing.

Thames Valley Police has now released an image of the car as the force appeals for witnesses to the incident.

Investigating officer, PC Keith Steward of the Joint Roads Policing Unit, said: “I am appealing to anybody who recognises the car in this image to please get in touch with us as we believe the owner may have vital information about this incident.

“If this is your car pictured, please come forward as soon as possible.

“I would also like to appeal to two specific witnesses who saw the collision take place.

"The victim stated that she spoke with a man and a woman who had a pushchair with them outside the front of the Station Garden pub.

"If this is you, please contact the force."
