The Queen of Mean Anne Robinson has revealed how she gets irritated by tourists browsing in shops near her home in the Cotswolds.

Ms Robinson recounted how her way was blocked by ‘three very large Germans’ at her local cheese shop in Burford.

"I got past one daughter and the mother, while the other daughter was leaning over the glass in front of the cheese display, taking photos," she told the Daily Mail.

"'Wouldn’t it be better if you bought some cheese instead of just photographing it,” I demanded.

'“I already buyed it,” she said. 'Bought, bought,' I retorted.’

"The ‘teenager’ behind the counter then whispered: ‘Are you a teacher?’"

She added: "I’ve yet to witness a tourist doing anything but browse – they never purchase".

Robinson, 79,  became known for her cutting remarks to contestants and her catchphrase “you are the weakest link, goodbye” when she presented The Weakest Link, which was first broadcast in 2000 before ending 12 years later.

She then went on to host Channel 4 quiz show Countdown, becoming the first female to take the role, before stepping down in 2022 amid media reports of a growing rift between her and co-host Rachel Riley.

Ms Riley dismissed reports of a feud.

Ms Robinson is reportedly in a relationship with the real Queen’s ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles.

The TV star has been dating the retired cavalry officer, 83, for at least a year, according to The Sun.

When asked about the alleged relationship, a representative for Robinson told the tabloid: “I can only quote my boss ‘It’s none of your business'”.
