THE sentencing of a paedophile who was caught asking a nine-year-old girl to send naked photographs has been delayed after his name was spelt incorrectly.
Christopher Philips, of Breame Oak Drive, Wheatley, was found guilty after a trial at Oxford Crown Court with five counts of child sexual offences which occurred between May and July of 2021.
The 47-year-old was charged after an online predator hunting team posed as a 13-year-old girl named Rihanna and reported him to police for alleged sexual communication.

When his home was searched, further conversations with real underage people – including a nine-year-old girl – were found.
He was due to be sentenced at the same court on Thursday (February 22) for attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, attempting to cause or incite a child to engage in sexual activity as well as sexual communication with a child.
He is also due to be sentenced for causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and one count of possession of an indecent photograph of a 13-year-old girl.
However, his name was spelt incorrectly meaning the prison did not know he was due to be taken into court.

The ‘T’ was missing from his first name.
Judge Ian Pringle said: “It’s quite staggering because they managed to miss out the ‘T’ in his first name but they spelt Phillips correctly.”
He will now be sentenced on March 12 at 2pm.
