Residents in West Oxfordshire are being encouraged to complete a survey which will inform the Council of local parking needs.

West Oxfordshire District Council's car parking strategy is facing further review after a mid-strategy assessment in 2023.

Introduced in 2016 and running until 2031, the strategy underwent an in-depth look to gauge if it was still meeting customer needs.

The examination also determined if the current stay times were best using Council resources and whether their enforcement efforts managed parking issues effectively.

The Council said: "Parking behaviours have changed over recent years, due to many factors including the Coronavirus pandemic, when people have travelled less, and customers being more environmentally conscious."

Despite these changes, the mid-strategy review showed that the capacity levels at Guildenford car park in Burford and Hensington Road in Woodstock would need to be studied further in 2024.

This study aims to determine whether or not the Council is making the best use of its assets and whether it is providing to customer needs.

The Council added: "We also need to make sure that the strategy supports our towns, now and in the future.

"We really value your feedback. If you could spare time to take part in our short car park survey, we can capture what is important to you, and ensure our services are meeting your needs."
