Following a search of the area, he was located, and taken to Banbury Police Station, in Warwick Road, where he was dealt with for the offences and issued a ban, preventing him from entering certain shops again.
The arrest was made by the force's Special Constabulary, with support from the Banbury Neighbourhood Team.
Police stated that they had previously received intelligence that a 16-year-old male "was regularly stealing from a shop in the town centre."
