A car and a caravan stolen over 10 years ago were recovered by officers from Thames Valley Police’s rural team yesterday.

Two constables (Uren and Little) patrolling West and South Oxfordshire seized a car in Witney, yesterday (Monday, February 19) after the driver displayed on their system as not having held a valid licence since 2010.

They also attended a report of lamping (the use of a spotlight to transfix animals and then either shoot or use dogs to kill them) near Blewbury and conducted a drone flight to ensure that no one was present.

Two additional officers recovered a stolen caravan in the Bampton area. Checks on the NCC CRiS (Central Registration and Identification Scheme) database revealed it was stolen from the Bicester area in 2010.

The NCC CRiS said: “Well done PC Dollery and PC Bowers – glad the NCC CRiS Database was useful – stolen markers stay on our database until the Leisure Vehicle is recovered.”
