Staff and residents at a care home rang in the Chinese New Year with a visit from some animals.

Inspired by Chinese customs, residents at Middletown Care Home in Hailey enjoyed interacting with animals such as snakes and scorpions.

The visit from the ZooLab animals was part of a day of celebrations and activities at the home.

One resident said: "I loved learning about the Chinese traditions in our Chinese New Year quiz that we did.

"A person born in the Year of the Dragon is said to be kind, confident and strong.

"What I really loved most was getting the chance to touch these weird and beautiful creatures that came to visit us.”
