Oxfordshire's new Lord Lieutenant is Tim Stevenson OBE.
The 60-year-old Oxford University graduate will take on the role on September 1, replacing Sir Hugo Brunner who retires next month.
A former chair of governors at Oxford Brookes University, Mr Stevenson has also been a member of the council of Modern Art Oxford and was Deputy Lieutenant for Oxfordshire since 2007.
He has three daughters and lives in Oxford with his wife, Marion, who is director of the Oxfordshire Family Mediation Service.
