A care home in Wallingford has celebrated Chinese New Year with a day of activities and celebrations.

Residents and staff at Waterside Court welcomed in the Year of the Dragon with handmade paper dragons, exchanged during supper.

Head chef Jacek cooked an oriental meal, which residents enjoyed with traditional Chinese tea.

Clemence Heriman, senior general manager, said: "We have had a brilliant day, we all had such fun finding out what animal we are, the associated traits and reading each other’s horoscopes."

One resident said: "I loved the music and learning about the Chinese Zodiac animal traits.

"A person born in the Year of the Dragon is said to be kind, confident and strong. I find it fascinating to learn all about different traditions."
